About me
Hi, I’m Sarah!
I’m a designer, educator, and lifelong maker. I love figuring out how things work, making things with my hands, and turning complicated ideas into experiences that feel intuitive and inviting.
I’ve spent the past decade designing products and learning experiences for kids and adults—from STEAM kits and apps to online learning platforms and creative tools. I’m particularly drawn to products that help people learn, experiment, and make something of their own. It’s so rewarding to design a experience that makes a learner think “I can do this!!”
I studied art and design in university, focusing on photography in undergrad and then going on to earn my MFA in Design + Technology from Parsons, where I had the opportunity to teach BFA students in the same program and discovered my love for teaching! Since then, I’ve taught coding and design to students from high school through college and grad school, and I’ve spent much of my career mentoring designers and helping teams grow. I’ve learned that I really enjoy creating the conditions for other people to do their best work, whether it’s through facilitating a good critique, asking a thoughtful question, or simply giving someone the confidence to try something new.
These days, I’m especially interested in the intersection of design, technology, learning, and making. I’m endlessly curious and am always looking for new things to learn, new problems to untangle, and new ways to make technology feel a little more human.
Thanks for being here!
